Gretchen has extensive advisory services experience in go-to-market and segmentation strategy, leading change, and building capabilities for companies in the Life Sciences, Manufacturing and Information Software and Services markets. This expertise includes using proven frameworks to create behavior-based market segmentation and defining competitive positioning to glean insights and identify leverage points for the client. Gretchen is skilled at translating these insights into actionable strategic and brand plans that deliver profitable, sustained growth.  She is also adept in applying proven frameworks to customize engaging, interactive marketing leadership, executive coaching and skill-building programs. As a master faculty and facilitator, Gretchen is uniquely qualified to design and deliver these programs with the highest impact, engagement levels and retention.

With a proven track record with clients including Biogen, WelchAllyn and Copyright Clearance Center, Gretchen brings a strategic eye to the go-to-market challenges facing businesses today.  She collaborates with clients to drive fresh, practical strategic insights that generate quantifiable results.


Prior to co-founding Imbue Partners, Gretchen was a director and case team leader at The Monitor Group and a Senior Associate at Cambridge Technology Partners, both world-class consultancies with Global 2000 clients.

Gretchen also held key positions in digital product enablement at Xalient, Inc., and Razorfish, Inc.

Gretchen is an active member of the North Shore Technology Council and on the Board of Trustees serving the Flint Public Library in Middleton, MA.  She holds a B.A. in English from Loyola College in Maryland and attended Richmond College (U.K.).

Frank Hover Imbue Partners

Frank is a recognized international sales and marketing expert who brings proven tools and hands-on experience to enable sales leaders to reduce sales cycles, target the most lucrative markets and open new selling channels. Frank not only has a proven track record developed during his time as a sales leader the technology and information services sectors, but also delivered success advising such world-class firms as Shire Pharmaceutical, Copyright Clearance Center and C&M Corporation. Frank’s success allowed him to hone and develop the vision, competencies, and perspective to deliver sales and channel expansion advisory services that grow both people and top-line results.


Prior to co-founding Imbue Partners, Frank was a Senior Regional Vice President of Business Development for the Boston-based research advisory firm, the Yankee Group.  At Yankee, Frank delivered not only substantial year-over-year revenue growth, but also implemented best practices that allowed the company to both reduce cost of sales and time to revenue.

As the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for technology company i-Logix, Inc., Frank implemented a multi-channel distribution solution and disciplined adherence to strategic selling processes that incorporated both value-based selling and SFA/CRM tools.  Among the results of this effort: a 20% annual increase in individual sales productivity and a 50% reduction of average sales cycle times.

Frank has also held leadership positions for such organizations as LexisNexis, Xerox and GE, where he built high-performance teams, instilling in them his passion for leveraging best practices to achieve results.

Frank is a Vietnam veteran and earned a BS in Industrial Management from Northeastern University.

Janet Chien Imbue Partners
Janet Chien, Consultant
A client solutions innovator in Life Sciences and Medical IT, Janet synthesizes market trends and identifies gaps across functional boundaries to drive competitiveness and meet time to market challenges. She leverages industry expertise and operational know-how to envision and deliver custom solutions with long-lasting impact in regulated environments.
Prior to joining Imbue Partners, Janet was a principal at Dyad Systems, LLC, Director of Services at Tribiosys, VP, Client Services at Guardent, Inc, and Client Partner at Razorfish, Inc. She is currently a member of the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation, the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC) and the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM). In 2008, Janet was the “Winning Women” recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Janet, received a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Babson College.
